Question

Adobe Acrobat Reader 7.0

Jul 20, 2011 12:12AM PDT

Windows XP Home Edition - I have Adobe Acrobat 7.0 version installed on my computer and I cannot open any of my saved PDF files no matter what I try to do. Can someone help me? Can I uninstall 7.0 and install the newest version and still be able to open my documents?

Answer
There is that old bug.

If you run Reader for a long time it used to (does it still on new versions?) make ACR*.TMP files from 0 to some 64,000 and then bang! Reader no longer works. Fix? Delete all the .tmp files.

Where are they? Sorry I don't run your PC so it can vary.

In the meantime try out Foxit PDF Reader.

What I still want to know if I download a new PDF Reader can I still open my already saved files on my computer which are under my documents?

Sorry but are you asking me to predict the future?

Sorry but I think that while Foxit should work and that the ACR*.TMP is the cause of your issues, I can't predict more than that.
