Adobe Acrobat 8 Professional

by sairashab / September 18, 2008 2:41 AM PDT

I have adobe acrobat 9, and I had adobe acrobat 8.1, but still I can not open pdf files. They open up, but then it freezes and I get a message to install Adobe 8 Professional. Why would it not open those files up when I have Adobe acrobat 9. I didn't have this problem in my old compaq laptop. But I have not ben able to view pdf files since I bought Sony laptop.

Uninstall both
by Jimmy Greystone / September 18, 2008 2:53 AM PDT

Uninstall both versions of Acrobat, then reinstall only Acrobat 9 when you're done with that.

Otherwise, I'd say for the price Adobe charges for most of their software, they're obligated to send someone over to your house to fix it for you. At the very least, they can give you some email based support for issues like this.

Agree to uninstall both version first

I agree to uninstall both version of Acrobat first. I had the same problem before and was told to uninstall the old one completely before installing a new version. But it seems to have problem to make a clean uninstall by itself. At last I used another uninstall tool which helps me settle the problem.

BTW, if you're interested you can download one to have a try http://www.finaluninstaller.com/ It really helps.

The Samsung RF23M8090SG

One of the best French door fridges we've tested

A good-looking fridge with useful features like an auto-filling water pitcher and a temperature-adjustable "FlexZone" drawer. It was a near-flawless performer in our cooling tests.
