Administrator account on XP-pro

Dec 5, 2003 12:02AM PST

Windows XP Pro, SP1 + all patches/upgrade, NAV 2003, Adaware, Spybot SD, Spywareblaster.

1 Administrator account (rarely use)
1 User with Administrator level account
1 User with Limited level account

Problem: the Administrator account seems to be corrupt - slow and sluggish - while the user w/ admin account and the limited user are "Normal"

As for other than Administrator account, I can just delete and create a new one ...
What to do if the Administrator get corrupted, can I just delete and create a new one?

Thank You

The reason I thought that the administrator account is corrupt:

1. On startup, the taskbar icon (Speaker, network connection and NAV) will show up after a few minutes.

2. Windows explorer. when I click My Computer, it will search (flash light icon) for several minutes.

3. When I try to open a file (in word or other program) and click the default directory - my document - it says that the Server is Busy....

All this doesn't happened when I logon as other than administrator account.

Thank You

Why don't you try these:

1. Logon as Administrator and run SFC.
2. Reregister the following DLLs:
Fix for Explorer:

* Quit all programs that are running.
* Click Start, and then click Run.
* Type: regsvr32 urlmon.dll,
* Click OK.

When you receive the 'DllRegisterServer in urlmon.dll succeeded' message, click OK.

If this does not resolve the problem, repeat steps 2 through 4 for each of the following files
(in step 3, replace Urlmon.dll with each of the file names below):
Shdocvw.dll
Msjava.dll
Actxprxy.dll
Oleaut32.dll
Mshtml.dll
Browseui.dll
Shell32.dll (Windows XP and Windows 2000 only)

Don't forget to leave a space between 'regsvr32' and the .dll,
and don't forget to click OK
