Yes, should be no problem

The terms used are "Exporting" and "Importing".

You can export your old address book by opening it, and going to File > Export, and choose the Address Book (wab) type file. Export it to a temporary location, (eg your desktop).

If it is less than 1.4 MB in size, it should easily fit onto a floppy disk. To check it's size, right click the file on the desktop, and choose Properties, and you can see the file size. Anything larger than a few hundred kilobytes is a very large address book.

Then copy it to your floppy disk, and paste it from the floppy to your new computer, (eg the desktop again), and then in the Address Book program goto File > Import.

Even Mark won't be able to help if you don't do so. Tell:
- the name and version of the old email program
- how you exported the address book
- what the resulting file looks like (name, size)
- the name and version of the new email program
- how you try to import the file into it
- what error message(s) you get

Just "trouble" tells nothing!

What address book? Does your new computer have a floppy drive? Most new computers don't. And as always:

If you are asking for help to troubleshoot a computer-related problem, please be sure to include all the necessary information (ie: operating system, model number, hardware, software, etc) that will help others identify your problem for a speedy resolution.

Have you tried to import your address book to Outlook Express? If so and it didn't work, what happened?

It is easy if you have the address book saved on a floppy, CD or USB drive. Put whatever you used to save the address book into the appropriate drive. Open Outlook Express, go to tools, address book, file (within the address book window) then import. Follow the instructions to import the address book. It should walk you through the process.

If that didn't work

the reason may be you saved the address book in the wrong format. Do you still have access of the other computer? Can you export it again? It should be a WAB file extension to work properly. To save it again, you follow the same instructions in my previous post except use export instead of import. Pick the destination, a floppy will do, and export it. The go to the new computer and import it.
