Address autocomplete in Outlook 2003 - How?

Dec 10, 2005 11:12PM PST

Hello again,

I have Outlook 2003 on XP Pro sp2 on my Dell Latitude laptop (all fully patched). Accessing mail via corporate IMAP4 server.

I have a personal "Contacts" list as well as a corporate email directory. Both appear in my address book setup. I have configured My Contacts to be searched first.

I have a contact called Fred Bloggs (listed as Bloggs, Fred) with an email address of Fred.Bloggs@imaginary.com.

When I send an email to Fred, I *think* I should be able to simply type "Fre" or "Blo" in the To fieled and the address should get automatically completed. Is that correct? Note: This works correctly on Outlook Express.

Please let me know.

Quick addition to this info:

There is a check box on the ''Advanced E-Mail Options'' dialog (under ''E-Mail Options'' dialog), that asks...

Suggest names while completing To, Cc and Bcc fields

However, this is already checked for me and it still doesn't seem to work.

Still looking for input here.

Thx

I had the same problem. Seems the folks at MS should know this would be an IMPORTANT feature. Go figure.

Anyway, type in the first name of the person you are wanting to email. Then do ctrl+k. Wala list of names.

Better than nothing at allHappy
