Adding more memory to XP

Feb 7, 2009 11:49PM PST

I searched around but couldn't find an answer, so forgive me if I missed it.
I want to add more memory and need to know if XP would be ok with it, or would I have to go through the validation process again, or worse, just get a blinking cursor.

Thanks everybody

Just a little more detail.

I've upped the ram in many machines without trouble. But I stick to 2GB limits or whatever Crucial.com tells me.

Since I have the old RAM I can always go back.

-> TIP! Before changing the ram, do a real shutdown. Do not Sleep or Hibernate the machine.

Thanks, I didn't know what it might do, and didn't want to lose my stuff.
I googled this subject and couldn't get a straight answer.

Thanks again
