I used some USB 2.0 external case and the drive of my choice.
I see the word "backup" but such FAIL as a backup since there is no write protection. It's just a copy, nothing more.

Hello everyone! Thanks for any suggestions you might have.
Background:
Compaq presario x1022AP
1.2 GHz P-M
512 Ram
60 Gb TOshiba HD PCI ATA
Bought Nov. 2003
Questions:
For the external drive, can I add a 3.5 HD as an external because I want 120g of space and notebook HD's don't go that high. Will I have any problems?
Can I use SATA on my system? i've read everything i can on the net and there are some pretty confusing answers out there, some say i can and some can't. I have a PCI ATA/ATAPI set in my bios.
What HD can you suggest? I'm going to store a lot of videos and mp3's on it and partition it to backup my OS
Oh, and would it be better for me to buy an internal drive and put it into an external case or just go ahead and buy an external drive? the price difference is big between the two options
Thanks a lot!
