Adding an RF modulator

Oct 11, 2005 5:35AM PDT

I have a TV tuner card with an s-video output, a vcr with no s-video input, but with a antenna in and a vhf/uhf output, an rf modulator with s-video, a tv in, and an antenna in, a tv with only a cable input, and a antenna with an output and an input, all the outputs except the mentioned s-video are for coaxial cable. I hope this is all the information. The question is, how do I hook this up to run dvds on my tv? I still want to have the vcr hooked up.
Thanx

Confusing description....

Honestly, you should consider hiring a professional. Unfortunately, many of the Home Theater companies are not in the business of simply hooking up a DVD player. You'll need to make some phone calls and talk to a few to find the right fit.

You could expect to pay about $75 for the visit.

The basic idea behind setting up this equipment is that every device you want to display needs to send it's signal to the TV. Either with a direct connection or through another device. The trick is in understanding how the hookups on each component function. You could get it all wired the way you think it should work and see nothing.

Connecting through components can make for a complicated setup requiring gymnastics whenever you want to switch from one device to another.

Start with 1 component. Make sure it works. Then add one and check it. Keep doing this until everything is hooked up and tested.

Good luck,
