Sadly, you may be just under the mark of where the software will consider the host machine to be acceptable. Try another computer.
"Is there somewhere in windows where I can tell the os to ignore this message, & install it anyway?"
Most likely not. This is a closed source OS and the same goes for HP's drivers. Unless they (HP) offer you a fix, then you have the wrong printer or PC.

hello,
I am trying to add an hp 3520 inkjet printer to a 233mhz hp xp laptop. I run the setup file from the cd, & a message saying memory, drive space, etc are all ok, but the processor is below the requirement to load the application, & the install doesn't continue. But, the printer does show up under printers in windows. The printer that is added does not have a usb port to choose from. (The printer only has a usb port.)
Is there somewhere in windows where I can tell the os to ignore this message, & install it anyway?
