Adding a lik to a thread reply

by ILearner / June 20, 2010 7:34 PM PDT

I apologise if this is in the wrong spot but I can't find another place to put it.
How do I add a link to a posting in the forums? eg: a photo, a file etc.

To post links;

1] To post a link to a web site.

Just copy/paste the link from your browser address bar; eg copy the link in the address bar, then paste that into your post.

2] To post an image.

These forums do not allow images to be posted directly into posts, but you can 'upload' images to your favorite Image Hosting site, eg ImageShack, Photobucket, Flickr, etc, make sure you can see the full sized image, then copy/paste that web address into your post.

3] Other files.

Other files you need to be more careful about. We will not generally accept direct links to executable files, for example, a link to some software installer file like "", because we cannot tell what the file actually does until we run it, and it could be malware infected. Those type of links will be deleted.

With documents I would have to say that there would need to be a very good reason for asking others to see a document. There are privacy issues which would need to be addresses.

Other files? It depends what 'files' you mean.

You can always "Preview" your post before submitting it.

One over-riding consideration. These forums do not allow advertising or other promotion, and such links will be deleted.

I hope that helps.
