Question

Adding 0. To 1. Network

Jul 22, 2017 10:11AM PDT

My router has a static IP address of 182.168.1.99

I'm trying to add a device that has a static IP address of 192.168.0.10

When I connect my computer it doesn't "see" the device. I was told I had to change my macbook to a zero dot address.

How do I do that?

Thanks

Clarification Request
Why do that? There's an easier way.

Just change the netmask to include that into your LAN IP range. I'm going to defer holding class here and write a single line reply next.

-> Change NETMASK from the usual 255.255.255.0 to 255.255.0.0

Now your LAN is now includes IPs from 192.168.0.0 to 192.168.255.255

If there was no router. It would be rare today to not have such.
