ADD TO GOM in right click on file. ...does not!

I have GOM PLAYER set as my default player for all media files. (Dell laptop, 2G ram, Win XP Pro SP3, all updates). GOM has worked really well for years. But in the last few days, when I select one or more media files in Windows Explorer, then right click and click on ADD TO GOM the GOM program will open, but the playlist is empty. ??

When I double click a media file listed as a GOM file, I also get no response. (Right click and selecting OPEN also does nothing). Actually, the right click options list looks somehow different than it did before (I think). It's as if windows file explorer has quit functioning for certain mouse clicks. ...but not all.

This behavior is true even if GOM is already open in another window. ...playlist remains empty.

I am able to drag and drop one or more files to an already open GOM playlist and it will then play as normal.

So I downloaded the very latest version of GOM from here at CNET (2.1.27.5031), uninstalled the old version with Revo, and reinstalled the new version, but file clicks are still working as described above. I think this may not be a GOM problem, but a Windows Explorer problem?

So then I tried system restore to before the problem occurred and then GOM would not even open at all (missing skins file?), so I had to undo the restore, and all is back to abnormal same as it was before the restore.

One more thing: I think (not sure actually) that I began to notice this after I installed the latest version of free Comodo Firewall, but I have checked Comodo and confirmed that gom.exe is "trusted". I also use AVG free version. Could that be affecting file clicks?

Could this failure to function in windows explorer be a registry problem? ...if not, what else?

Thanks for any and all feedback!!!
