add to favorites

can someone help me I made like 8 different folders in my add to favorites with different web sites I have like and today when I come back lots of the folders are empty and some are missing nobody use my computer only me have this happen to anybody else how do I get them back or are they gone for good. Windows 7

can you see them in file explorer?

Also "Favorites" is a link to folders, not an actual folder. If you search the entire computer for the real folders, you can add them back into "Favorites".

did you create your folders within your browser? at what location were the folders located?

I look in my computer for them and did not find them. I looked in my c drive user and favorites I think when I link all my computers to my network somehow things got messed up. my lost but I went back to some of the web sites and readied them but can't remember all I have window 7 8 8.1 so it's my lost but this time I put them on my usb drive just in case thanks for the help.

a couple other things to try

see if recuva could get them if they have been deleted from your favorites folder. Also doing a system restore to a restore point just after the folders were created might get them back

For the future, I would like to suggest the xmarks addon for ie. It will auto keep a backup for you plus you can sync with your other computers using ie. I have been using it for years.
