Add/remove programs

Jun 23, 2007 3:57PM PDT

My windows xp shows that I have office03. Came with trial period which elapsed.
Continually get reminded to update sec update KB929064 but it will not install. Probably because I don't have office03. Yet it shows in the add/remove programs and will not delete. "verify that package exists and that you can access it..."
How do I get rid of this annoying update reminder at each shutdown without attempting download and restarting computer

if you need a FREE program to replace it, try Open Office.

For Removing Office 2003 Completely..

First, try to uninstall from the Add/Remove Programs section.. If that doesn't work, then try the "Windows Installer Cleanup Utility" from the link below.. Download it to your desktop, then run the tool.. Find all the Office listings

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/290301

The error message you've mentioned is a Windows Installer error and the above utility should allow you to remove the program.

Hope this helps.

Thank you for the suggestions. I've now used add/remove, office uninstaller, and the cleanup utility. Office03 is still listed in the programs with 400+mb. Of course, I can't open any part of it.
It is also still listed in the start/programs.
Any ideas?
