add another router to existing router? is it possible?

by Adil Ahmed / April 14, 2008 10:35 AM PDT

I have modem+wireless router at the 2nd floor of my house. I have good wireless Internet signal till the first floor level. I have PS3 in the basement floor and I have a wired connection (Ethernet) for it as I do not get any signal in the basement. however I cannot work on my laptop in my basement area. Can I use another router (Netgear) for example, in the basement area and connect it to the existing Ethernet cable???? so that I get wireless internet connection to my Laptop or other devises..
I tried using Access points ( like using lynksis expanders) but since I do not get any signal there, it is not helping me much.
I need help.

You deserve the credit for that one.

Actually I've done this but not the same.

My original setup was harder on members. I would perform a DOUBLE NAT and you could hear "crickets" and see "glazed eyeballs."
