AdAware INSISTS on finding non-existant file

Oct 11, 2008 4:11AM PDT

everytime I run Adaware (free) it finds a file which does not exist.
It refers to C:|Documents and Settings\user\Recent Count:1.
Neither the file or the folder exists and never has. I cannot find it on my hard drive...ever."Ignoring" it is the obvious solution but would like to find out of there is a fix for this condition.
Have been unable to get an answer from Lavasoft.
Am running Windows XP Home but have had this problem with W98 also.
Computer use3s 3ghx Pentium chip .Has 896 MB ram.
Would appreciate any info whatsoever.

Digging a "bit deeper" in the Lavasoft forum.......

I found:

MRU objects dosen't pose a real threat to the user. It is shown to make the user aware of the most recently used objects.

Another explanation is, the last sites you typed into the address bar in Internet Explorer.

Maybe the "fix" is, to run CCleaner BEFORE you run an Ad-Aware scan? Give it a try Wink

No CC doesnt work nor does Easy Cleaner.

Simply put no search reveals that the so called file exists. So I have decided that I will not use Adaware as it hasnt found anything in a few years. I also do not have ,or use Internet Explorer, never have and never will. Why? I consider it pirated software despite the courts decision. It was stolen from netscape and I wont have it on any machine of mine.
Thanks anyway!
