AdAware 2007 Update

by chuckeej / May 16, 2008 5:31 AM PDT

My os: WinXp Home/SP2. I am trying to download updates from Adaware and get the following error msg:
"Ad Aware 2007. System error:1810 has occurred. Description: Service is not online. Application terminates".
I am online when I try to update, so don't understand this error msg.
I currently have Zone Alarm configured to allow AdAware 2007. Thanks.

Thanx very much for quick reply. Will try to update again later.
Another question with AA2007 update....I notice that on the update page they have green check marks against updating (??) French/Portuguese/Italian etc. languages. I only need English update.
I cannot seem to disable the green check marks or the option to chose only English lang updates. Does this mean that when I "update".. all these foreign languages are also updated to my system? If so, how can I disable this unnecessary foreign lang. updates? Again, many thanks.

chuckeej..

In regard to the foreign language updates, it's my understanding from what I've read in the past and now, you can't "disable" the feature. If you didn't decline the foreign language updates when you first installed it, there's no way can you do it now. It would mean re-installing AAW. See the response to this post regarding the same issue. There are more like it. Keep in mind the thread was created last February. There may have been some changes made since then. Confused This may be of help in the future: Ad-Aware 2007 FAQ

I can't tell you how accurate the above information is, since I no longer have Ad-Aware installed and know very little about it, short of what I've read here and there. Best of luck to you..

Help, my PC with Windows 10 won't shut down properly

Since upgrading to Windows 10 my computer won't shut down properly. I use the menu button shutdown and the screen goes blank, but the system does not fully shut down. The only way to get it to shut down is to hold the physical power button down till it shuts down. Any suggestions?
