Colleen,
You didn't give us the operating system, but you should be able to restart the computer into Safe Mode, using the instructions below and then follow the manual removal procedures from this link to clean out any registry entries and file remnants.:
http://www.doxdesk.com/parasite/NewDotNet.html
How To Start In Safe Mode
Restart the computer, pressing the F8 key once per second, till it loads a selection screen. Use the up and down arrows to select "Safe Mode", press enter, and the computer will load into a safe mode. It looks like a normal screen but with Safe Mode in each of the four corners. When you?re done making the deletions from the link above, restart the machine and it will boot normally.
Hope this helps.

Hello - needing some advice - my son downloaded adaware and he received the following message:
Error in C:\Progra~1\NEWDOT~1\NEWDOT~2.DLL
Missing entry: NewDotNetStd
Everytime he now starts up his system, he gets a "rundll error". Any help would be appreciated in clearing this up. I suggested he totally wipe out the adaware program and download it again but thought it best if he waited until someone more knowledgeable offered some comment. Your help would be appreciated.
