Adapter not detected

by RickH. / November 29, 2009 1:01 AM PST

I just recently upgraded my Windows XP computer to Windows 7. The previous Trendnet adapter connected to my wireless router that I used for Windows XP does not work on windows 7. I downloaded to software for the adapter but it still doesnt read. There is an excilamation point next to the item on the device manager. Is there anything I can do to make the adapter work with Windows 7? Thanks.

1. Install the OS.
2. Install drivers in this order.
a. MOTHERBOARD CHIPSET DRIVERS
b. Audio
c. Video
d. Other drivers.

I read your post twice and can't tell if you did this or hoped Microsoft would do this for you.

Connect the PC to the router wired. Go to Device Manager and find the affected adapter. Double click it and have W7 reinstall the driver. W7 will go on line (via the wired connection), find the proper driver, and install it.
