Adapter for USB to wall charging

Dec 7, 2005 8:31AM PST

I'm buying a new mp3 player (waterproof Swimp3 by Finis http://reviews.cnet.com/Finis_SwiMP3/4505-6490_7-31303904.html )

It only charges on a computer USB port or I have to buy their USB wall charger for over $30 w/shipping. This seems a little pricey to me. Also, it doesn't look like it comes with a cord, so it would seem that they could have designed it a little bit better.

Are there generic chargers to choose from that you can use for all devices that plug into computer USB ports in order to charge them on a wall outlet, or is it risky to buy something not specifically made for your device.

I'd like to buy one that I could use for the swimp3 and my girlfriend could also use for her ipod mini.

Thanks

sometimes it can matter, but other times you can just mix and match. do you really need a wall charger anyway? just plug it into your comp and go to sleep or something.
