I am looking for an adapter that will fit inside the battery port of a camera that normally uses a rechargeable lithium ion battery. I know these batteries vary in size and shape so, Specifically, does anyone know if this is possible with the battery for the Canon PowerShot S70? I saw a Ricoh R2 that allows both AA and lithium ion batteries in the same spot without an adapter. I think it would be less expensive to carry an adapter, if your lithium ion battery dies you can just pop in a pair of AA alkaline or keep a pair of rechargeable AA batteries handy, rather than spend the extra money for another lithium ion battery that will also, eventually, run out of power and leave you stranded until you find a wall outlet. I take mostly outdoor shots, so I'm looking for a versatile power supply system. I have also been looking at solar powered battery rechargers, if anyone has used one of those I'd like to hear what you thought. Let me know if anyone has tried an adapter to use AA batteries in a lithium-ion based camera and if you think it's better or just a bigger hassle.
