Ad-AwareSE

I had ad-aware6 for quite awhile, also spy-bot search & destroy, zonealarm. I downloaded the new ad-awareSE today, it came up with 616 problems two of which I have been trying to get rid of for several months. Ad-aware scans fine,when I click next it quarantines OK, but seems to hang up on the delete part. It doesn't delete anything. I have restarted the computer several times, also run ad-aware several times same results. What am I doing wrong?? I run win 98, have AVG anti-virus, spyware dr. None of the ad-spy removel programs seem able to get rid of IBIS toolbar, how do I get rid of this stuff.Also something has hijacked IE, it will start & run on it's on, I shut it down & in 20 min it's running again, how do I fix this problem also??? Thanks for any help.

Here's some info: http://www.pestpatrol.com/PestInfo/i/ibis_toolbar.asp

Somebody should take a look at that infection.

Download HijackThis v.1.98.2 to its own permanent folder.
http://www.spywareinfo.com/~merijn/files/HijackThis.exe
If that link is not working, extract from http://www.downloads.subratam.org/hijackthis.zip

To create a folder:
Click My Computer, then C:\
In the menu bar, File->New->Folder.
That will create a folder named "New Folder", which you can rename to "HJT" or "HijackThis".
Now you have C:\HJT\ folder.

Scan and DO NOT fix anything.
After Scan, the Scan button changes to Save Log.
Click that, save it somewhere. Do Ctrl-A to Select all, and then copy and paste it into a post on one of the following sites in their malware forum so an expert can tell you what to fix.
It may take a few days because they are swamped, but they will get to you eventually.

Thank you for the info. The site for pestpatrol was of great help. I have bought several anti-spyware programs & am not happy with them, I thought ad-aware & spybot search & destroy were doing a good job till I down loaded the new ad-aware se. I run clean up programs once a week. Spyware Dr, seems to work OK. I am not excited to buy another new anti-spyware program, but if you think Pestpatrol will do a good job of getting rid of this junk I guess I will spend the money. I just need to get this stuff off my computer.
