Ad-Aware definitions update

by christy / March 4, 2005 5:59 PM PST

Ad-Awaer SE 1.05 informs me that my definitions are 17 days out of date. The current definition is dated 16.02.2005. However, when I try to update, none is available. Is every where the same ? Thanks.

Strange though. Does this mean there are no new adware threats in the world? Is this Utopia?

Not Utopia, no
by MarkFlax Forum moderator / March 5, 2005 5:09 AM PST

especially as, it seems, Lavasoft have removed WhenU from their TAC and no longer deem WhenU as a threat.

The link Marianna gave is quite informative.

And have a good day yourself Glenn, Happy

Mine says 17 days old, not out of date. I've seen this before with AdAware and then update comes along.

Um, I ran the update and it looks as it if it is downloading, however, if I run the update again, I still get the message that defs are 17 days old and it will go through the update process again. I rebooted, and it still repeats?!?! Any ideas? Thanks.

They are swamped now I'm sure, I would

try again later. Just the fact that they are busy because the defs just got released is probably causing glitches, just as it does with Spybot, Windows Updates, AVG, etc. whenever new things are released. If you still have a problem by tomorrow morning, you might try doing them manually.

I have seen others complain of the other problem sometimes when they are first released. I had the problem myself a couple of months ago and went back the next morning and they went fine.

Help, my PC with Windows 10 won't shut down properly

Since upgrading to Windows 10 my computer won't shut down properly. I use the menu button shutdown and the screen goes blank, but the system does not fully shut down. The only way to get it to shut down is to hold the physical power button down till it shuts down. Any suggestions?
