ActiveX Control issue in IE7

Jan 31, 2007 10:45AM PST

Hi all,

I am having a problem with the web site www.worldwinner.com and using it in IE7. I had no problem in XP. When I go to use it in Vista I am able to load the web page and log in, choose a game, and when it goes to install, I choose Install, but it stops and now every time I click to bring up a game I get this message:

"Your security settings do not allow websites to use ActiveX controls on your computer."

It's a new computer so I may have missed something but I've check all of the IE ActiveX security settings and enabled them and put the web site in the trusted zone. Does anyone have any ideas on how I can get this to work?

Thanks.

Fix.

CAUSE
This issue occurs when the Run Active X controls and plug-ins option in Microsoft Internet Explorer is disabled.
RESOLUTION
To resolve this issue, change the security customization in Internet Explorer. To do this, follow these steps: 1. In Internet Explorer, click Internet Options on the Tools menu, and then click the Security tab.
2. Click Custom Level.
3. Under Run Active X controls and plug-ins, click Enable.
4. Under Script ActiveX controls marked safe for scripting, click Enable.
5. Click OK two times.

If this doesn't work, reset ie defaults and it will work.

Doesn't work

I have the same problem as the original person. Can't even go "back" to IE6 on a Vista. Completely stuck. The "fix" doesn't work. On can enable every single ActiveX control there is, and some games just won't load.

Finally got a reply from WorldWinner on the subject. They're transitioning all their games to work with Vista, but aren't there yet. They said that it would be a few more weeks. It is not the security/ActiveX problem it appears to be.
