Brian, The Lack Of Help Is For A Reason...

You didn't give us any information...

Since you haven't listed anything about your computer in your profile....Whenever posting questions on these forums, please give us as much information as possible about your computer. Depending on your issue, we might need the operating system, processor speed, amount of RAM installed, brand name of the computer, (if there is one), and any EXACT error messages you are receiving, and any other stuff that might be helpful.. The more information you give us, the better informed our answer will be.

In your case, HOW, WHY, and WHAT KIND of desktop item did you create? Why can't you remove it and what have you tried?

Hope this helps and let us know more.

Just right click the icon. You should see a 'delete' option.

and life goes on...

cannot delete icon either

Windows XP. I also placed an active desktop shortcut on my desktop. It's not what I wanted to do but I made a mistake. I wanted desktop, not active desktop. I have other website shortcuts that I can delete at will but this one does not have a remove or delete option after right click. I also noticed that all my desktop icons now have the blue shadowbox behind the names. I thought about "go back" but that would not be good for me, too far back. So, any help will be a step in the right direction! Thanks,
Wood

But start, run, DESKTOP and see if it shows there. Delete it in Explorer.
