Answer
I'm guessing you mean Microsoft Windows activation.

Let's be clear that activation issues are between you and Microsoft. Do not pay anyone else to fix this. That is, I've seen too many folk pay pirates for crack.

What vendor?

A month, that pretty much is the 30-day period of non-activation or when time runs out and you *have to* activate. Plus, you say, new ops, if this isn't the original OS of your Dell system, then you have wonder where you purchased that ops install disc. That alone maybe the crux of your problem, since you need to contact the vendor or MS to wrangle this all out, if this was dome outright as a legitimate purchase. Is that valid code some COA sticker that came with the OS package? Dis you buy online, contact that source or vendor and see where it leads you. If this is all above board, then you need to contact MS and proceed with the validation process not the install licence but allow to see if you have a legitimate OS disc, COA. If you go through this process, be sure to document it all.
