Actius AV18 Battery Problem

Mar 29, 2005 3:14PM PST

Hello,

I have a Actius AV18. I bought this about 1 and half years ago...

For some strange reason...my battery started to get 40-60 mins on a full charge...and now everytime I charge it until 100%, 5 seconds later a dialog box pops-up and says I have critical battery

I tried to discharge it completely and charging it up without turning it on...

Anyone has a solution for this?

About the right time.

On average, these batteries last about 500 charges to 18 months and begin to fade. There are factors that can affect how soon the battery needs to be replaced.

-> What happens when you use a new battery?

1. The place you bought it from.

2. The maker.

Well..I got this laptop from Circuit City....

and I tried going to Sharp's website and looking for out..and it seems that AV18 model is out of production..

I guess I'm out of luck?

Many have forgotten the age old tool called the phone. But Sharp does have service centers that repair and dispense laptop parts and batteries.

I will not note google.com and the zillions of battery vendors and refurbishers you find there.

It appears to me, you just need to apply yourself.

A note to ikenfixit.com can reveal a tip if you can't do this.
