Acronis Clone hd wont boot up

I used the Acronis software to clone a 7g hd to a 20g hd,Once the process was complete i reset the 20gigHD jumper and installed alone in the same pc but it would not boot up. If i set the 20gHD as a slave and installed it along side the original HD i can acess it with ease but it wont stand alone where did i go wrong.
PC info:- 1.5Ghz,XP-PRO,256M and Intel Celeron CPU

Just the usual I run into.

In reply to: Acronis Clone hd wont boot up

If you boot the machine with the cloned drive on the other connection XP might mark it as a non-bootable drive. Also, it is unusual to see the master and slave jumpers used today. The more common is Cable Select and placing the drive on the master or slave connection. The master and slave setting is still used on the older 40 conductor cables.

Is the partion made active?

In reply to: Acronis Clone hd wont boot up

seeing as you are able to boot with the old drive along side of the cloned one, go to disk management and check that the 20gig drive is active, if not enable active partition and try again.
