Acoustic Research wireless headphone - sound drop.

Mar 5, 2011 11:55PM PST

I have a situation that I have been unable to find an answer for. I own a pair of wireless Acoustic Research wireless headphones. I have had these headphones for years. I am very pleased with them. All I ever have to do is replace the rechargeable batteries every now and then. Just recently I have purchased a Samsung LCD HD flat screen and, as before on my old TV I am using the RCA audio out as my head phone source. There are two things that have me baffled; first I barely have to turn up the volume on my headphones without the sound from the Samsung being to loud or begin to distort. Secondly when ever there is a lot of "action noise or loud music" the headphones become "overwhelmed" and the sound completely drops out and then resumes when the loud action scene or loud music is over. Have anyone of you heard of this? Are there any adjustments that can be made? These headphones are pretty old but they were working properly with my old TV. The only physical difference is that the Samsung is closer to my chair then my old TV was; by about 3 feet. Thanks for any help.
