Question

Achieving cable box audio through sound system

Aug 10, 2015 4:08PM PDT

Hey guys so let me explain my situation.

The application is a restaurant.
1) I have a office in the restaurant that has the main (2) direct tv source coax cables from satellite.
2) There are 4 coax cables, connected to the main (2) coax cables from satellite, going through the walls to a dining area where the tvs are.
3) I have a sound system (receiver) in this office that is connected to speakers in the same dining area.

All im trying to achieve is sound from my direct tv to go through my speakers. I just don't know how this would be possible with the tvs so far away and no source for audio, unless I can somehow tap into the coax line before it leaves the office to the tvs??

Any help is appreciated,

Thank you

Answer
Tell the exact model for the direct tv unit.

Then we can see what audio out it has. Some TVs have audio out so that's an option too. As there is cable from your office to those areas your installer would just run cable back as needed. In fact, any decent home theater company can fix you up.

So turns out all I needed was to run a coax cable from my box to my Av receiver. Thank you
