Acer _ Vista problem ..Plz HELP!

Jan 2, 2008 10:45AM PST

I had the windows vista and i wanted to dual-boot it with windows XP ,So I installed it and I couldn't boot to vista and then I installed a software called Vista boot pro and this software helped me boot to vista ,but after that I couldn't boot to windows XP anymore ..
Then I installed windows XP again and installed another software called BOOTUS ,this Software didn't even see windows vista and when I tried the other software (vista boot pro) ,It told me that the BCD is corrupted .. Now I have the windows XP and I can't boot to windows vista So I tried the Acer eRecovery ..I entered the password and everything and it started to fix the vista ..And after it finished I found that it simply deleated my windows vista and installed it again so all my files ,programs are gone .

Now ,I have windows Xp on a partition and windows vista on the other one and I can't boot to my vista .

The problem was that I like windows vista but Xp works way faster and I need this speed with my softwares ..

Please ,I need help because i can't now install my applications on Windows Xp because I'm simply not sure what will happen with my windows vista I mean if I installed it probably it may delete my windows Xp .

Please I need a reply soon ,And If the solution can make both of this operating systems work that would be great .

Thank you ..

Ok i did the second one

Well I tried the second link and i think it the solution but the problem is that it requires files like "bootsect.exe" ,these files are supposed to be on the windows vista DVD ,And as you know in the acer laptop they don't give DVDs ,they only make this useless hidden partition to do the useless system recovery and that's all .

I have a few Acers.

Not only do I have the (useless?) partition but I made some very useful restore DVDs. I can't count how many don't do that and pay way too much for that oversight later.

Did you make those DVDs?

In your case..

You skipped making the restore and repair DVDs so you get to order them.

You don't have to answer, but why didn't you make them?

Order the restore and repair DVDs now.

While it's cheap. If it was a very new machine, claim it failed out of the box and ask they waive the charge.

-> Ok you don't want to do that. Go buy the full version of the Vista you are running to gain access to everything Microsoft offers and Microsoft's support. Only 299... Operators are standing by.

Claim ti failed out the box !?

Sorry but you seem bent on trying it any other way than what we'll suggest here. I'm trying to give you some bullets but they are not fitting your guns.

You were supposed to create the restore DVDs before you do anything with the laptop. Some elect not to and end up like this.

-> I re-read my replies and find the advice to be "what I would do." Here it is one last time.

CALL it in. Tell them the DVD restore creation failed and now it won't boot. Ask them to send you the restore DVDs free since it failed.

-> Is that plain enough for you? If not, tell us why you won't do this.
