1. Remove the AC, then the battery to get a full reset.
2. I don't expect Microsoft to supply all the drivers are note that this model is XP ready. Research Acer to see if it can run XP and to fetch motherboard, BIOS and more drivers. From what I read of your post, the OS install looks unfinished.
Here?s the story one neighbour age 74 years of age with an Acer Travelmate 2300 notebook he messed up all sorts of things on it and then asked if I could sort it out but he had lost is rescue disks
not to worry I thought and decided to format all hard drive and start again with Xp Pro. after installing xp and other programs everything was fine and working .After switching power off and later back on all I get is a black screen with no signs that bios will load the power light on front just flashes orange on and off and will not load from cd rom but spins the disk can some one help please
