Too similar machines.

I might choose by testing each. One may have a horrid keyboard or display so find each in the store and see if one gets knocked down by a display or keyboard issue. Next, go by price and warranty.

Neither are LAP TOPS. These are gamer machines that should run hot and have reduced life spans.

What I'm seeing.

Instead of your usual 4 year machines these gamer laptops tend to suffer issues after 2 years. Nothing wrong about that but hard on the owners who weren't ready for what happens when you fit all that game hardware into a small package.

I was waiting for Acer to release the

8935 in the USA. I read report it would be June but it never happened. Searching the Acer website they did release it in England. But when Winodws 7 game out Acer releaded the new AS8940 in the USA. I take it your not in the USA since the 8935 isn't available here. The 8940 is the same thing as the 8935 but with the new Intel i7 instead of the old Intel Core 2 Quad Q9000. Check to see if it's available in your country.

Europe

You said 8735 and not 8935. The 8735 is available in the USA at Newegg. The 8735 is 899 from Newegg and the 8940 is 1349. The difference in the 2 models is the 8735 has a lower resolution screen and doesn't have Bluray and the 8735 had the older Intel Core 2 Duo instead of the new Intel i6 or i7. If you get the 8735 make sure you setup the sound properly. The customer reviews all mentioned sound as an issue but was correctable in setup. On e customer says you have to set the sounf to realtek 5.1 or it sounds like the speakers are blown. He did say once that setting was changed the sound was awesome.
