...makes me think there needs to be some cleanup...Please try the steps below to eliminate some of the unnecessary start up programs and services that could be bogging things down and causing the mouse/keyboard to jump and clean out the junk files to help it run a little smoother.

For Windows 2000/XP, ignore the first couple of sentences about checking "resources" in the link below but follow the rest of the procedures including the "Services" links at the bottom.

How To Shut Down Unnecessary Start Up Programs

How To Clean Unwanted Files From The Hard Drive

Next, if you haven't already, please download, install, update, then run ALL of the free spyware removal tools from the links below:

I went to add/remove programs and deleted all the preinstalled litle programs that are good for nothing, after restarting the computer everything works perfect!! it was probably one of those trying to do something when I was using any i/o operation because it was happening with everything, using the camera, typing, moving the mousse,,,etc.

Thanks a lot! very good advise! I hope that this helps other people too...

you should update the bios, and the touchpad drivers from the acer.us web site.

i bought the notebook, went to the site, confirmed my warranty, and went to the download section.

downloaded the WINFLASH, the new BIOS, which really fixes the keyboard skipping, and the touchpad, which really fixes the touchPad.

the computer really runs great.

you can also download the intel wireless driver, if you want.
