Question

Acer nitro 5 board swap.

I was wondering if you could get a motherboard from an acer predator helios 300 and put it in the acer nitro 5. It looks pretty much the same but I wanna ask anyone who has maybe done something similar before I go blow a lot of money on a new board.

Answer
No one does this.

Laptop motherboards have been very custom for years with rare instances where such can be changed out. Besides a new motherboard should exceed half the cost of the laptop so can you share what's up with this change?

K

I want more GPU power and dont want to get a whole new laptop. The two computers are pretty much identical just with some minor aesthetic changes and when I look at the two boards from side to side on the internet they look the same.

Get the price.

And ask the maker. So far I've yet to find many that can interchange. Mostly Dells over the years. Also, if it's too big a change you need to replace the charger as well.

-> I wish it was an easy thing to find out but I'm sure you've been asking around.
