Acer Netbook's touch pad

Oct 1, 2011 12:24AM PDT

There are times as i am typing a post or email, the screen either disappears or gets smaller. I suspect that i am hitting something on the touch pad as sensitive as it is, that makes it do it. Or is it the 64 bit mode that is doing it? In the interim, I am using my wireless mouse to better effect with it. As far as that touch pad...i tried to see what all the functions are and some work and others nothing seems to happen.

Did you try TOUCHFREEZE?

Google TOUCHFREEZE and see if that helps.

did you try TouchFreeze

yes, i tried touch freeze and touchpad to no avail. in fact compatibility said it wont work with win7. If you have it working for win7, what is the secret? in the meantime i made myself a small cardboard to cover the touchpad and although its not attractive...it seems to be working.

What is this compatibility?

Sorry but it's been installed on both 32 and 64 bit 7 for quite some time.

I'm guessing you ran some Microsoft compat checker but unsure why that came up. Something of a secret I guess.

Your fix reminds me of the other trick of using a postit note cover.

hot keys work

Stupid me should have read the manual for hot keys. I found it for my acer netbook...better using that instead of the cardboard piece i made up...its the combination of FN+F7 toggle it.
