Things to try:

- Run the makers hard disk diagnostics
- Restore the latest full image of your HDD/SSD (whatever you boot from), if you have one.
- Boot into a Linux disc or stick to have a look at what exactly is on that disk. Then repair if possible.
- Go back to factory conditions as told by Acer
- Get your Windows recovery drive (if you made one) and see what repair options it offers
- See if a clean install of Windows via a disc or stick you download (might be free, depending on what OS you have) solves this.
If this is a hardware issue with the hard disk, you might need to install a new one.

I leave it to you in what sequence to try these things.

I will write I've seen this after the owner had been in the BIOS and tinkered too much so the fix was to get back to factory conditions.

Now if there are other issues like a failed drive or water damage that would have to be dealt with as well.
