It doesn't tell us if it's the motherboard, keyboard or another part. If this was mine I'd remove the keyboard and then tape over the keyboard connection as I dusted the entire inside with canned air. Then I'd gently push any connections home, remove my tape that kept dust out of the keyboard connector, give that a very short blast with the canned air, use the contact cleaner on the keyboard cable and re-assemble and test. Hopefully the usual will get it going again.
This does not sound like a driver issue.

Hi everyone I was hoping someone could help me out.(I apologize for the lengthy thread) I'm having trouble with my Acer Aspire laptop (V3-551-8469 running Win.
. So both my keyboard and touchpad will stop working simultaneously, they will work normally after a quick restart or coming out of sleep mode. If I boot up the computer and don't move it they work fine. If I move the laptop or accidentally shake it, the keyboard and touchpad go off completely. The laptop USB ports still work however and the CPU continues working along with connecting an external mouse/keyboard. Still for the purpose of portability I need to do so without having to carry the extra junk. I had assumed it was a hardware failure between either of the two so I bought a new keyboard and touchpad and replaced them in myself, however, the problem still persisted. I have noticed something weird though, upon shaking/moving the laptop, my computer indicates that it is charging, as though I had just plugged it in to the Charger even though the charger isn't plugged in at all. It is at this point that the keyboard and touchpad go off. Now my question is: should I replace the motherboard entirely or the DC Jack??? I'm positive that it is not a software issue or a driver issue with the keyboard/mouse since I have reset all settings and updated drivers plenty of times.
