Acer drive disapears

My acer drive keeps disapearing and have to reboot to bring it back. Some time ago i received a fix by deleting a file in the registry but have lost the instruction, does anyone know of a fix for this problem or which file in theb register to delete.

What is an Acer drive?

Acer (the company) supplied many types of drives from memory stick, DVDRW and more. While I could write something about UPPERFILTERS it may not apply.
