Both are fair value laptops but any gaming and I'd try the one with the 610 video as it has a small edge over the Intel GMA.

I'd only really be using it for word processing, facebook and the likes, surfing the net, listening to music etc. I'm a console gamer so the ability to play games on the laptop wouldn't play a massive role in the choice.

For me I like a good display when gaming is not a factor. And about battery times, if I need battery time, I check out the Transformer from the office.

Decided to go for the Acer

Thanks for your help, Bob. I've decided to go for the Acer. Ever so slightly cheaper and I just think there are several small features which would suit me better.
