Acer Aspire TimelineX 5820TG -where to buy!

by catfink1000 / October 6, 2010 1:06 AM PDT

Hi,

I'm trying to find an Acer Aspire TimelineX 5820TG with i5 CPU and graphics card, but can only find the 5820T version for sale (no graphics card).

Well I tell a lie, I have found this one on Amazon with an i7 CPU (but also a very scary price of ?1,099).

If anyone's found any others I'd really appreciate any ideas.

(Called Acer who said it hadn't be discontinued.)

Cheers, C

That's not scary.

That's a normal price. Why do you call it scary? Are you buying your first laptop or have only now looked at laptop prices? For example just a few years ago you would pay 3 grand for a leading edge laptop. Prices have fallen a lot over the years.

Just seemed quite a big hike from prices I'd seen for 5820TG with i5 (?800ish).

And even now, Amazon appears to have it in stock. The prices do move about so the price is spot on for a TimeLineX with an i7.

WHY THE i7? And why the 3D chipset? Is this for games?
