Question

Acer Aspire Sound Problems

Jun 26, 2012 11:55AM PDT

This Aspire One running win xp and atom processor has recently started to have sound issues. playback of any sound via any type of player is slow with a stuttering effect. it started having this problem after i uninstalled norton and installed microsoft essentials. it had ok sound even after the new antivirus was installed. i can't think of any program that was installed in the past few days that might have caused the problem. i did install itunes for a couple days but have uninstalled it. could the hard drive be failing? i updated the real tek driver and it improved the sound for the first couple mp3s i played. the songs played smooth but with a kind of static sound like a poorly tuned radio station. now the full stuttering effect is present again. i tried to restore and have many restore points prior to the problem but the restore does not work it looks as if it will be ok then reports that the pc cannot be restored to selected date point. any suggestions?

I didn't read where you fixed that issue.

There's always the factory restore if you can't fix this one.

Remove norton with symantec's removal tool.

We know Kapersky blocks restores so why not google this question and report your findings.
