You can open the HD bay (probably under a bottom cover), disconnect/reconnect the drive. The BIOS should identify a connected drive in its basic setup so going to the boot order priority won't necessarily tell if one is connected. I am surprised to see IDE as I'd think one would see SATA on these as Win7 does support these without any finagling. I'd definitely check those front end BIOS menus for the drive.
Im trying to help out a friend with her Acer Aspire One Series Notebook/Netbook(?). It had been working fine Im told, then it suddenly went to a blue screen and now when powered up, its a blk screen that reads:
INTEL UNDI, PXE-2.1 (Build 082) For Altheros PCIE Ethernet Controller v2.0.0.9 (5/8/09). Check cable connection, PXE-MOF: Exiting Intell PXE ROM, No Bootable Device - Install Boot Disk-Press Any Key.
I went into F2 Setup Utility, to the boot priority order. It looks like this: 1. USB HDD:
2. USB FDD:
3. IDE1:
4. IDE0:
5. USB CDROM:
6. Network Boot: Atheros Boot Agent
The info on this is ACER Aspire One Series, Mdl AO532h-2588 (on a separate sticker on back it says Mdl NAV50), Manuf 10/01 and the OS is Windows 7 Starter.
Would I need to download a boot disk? Thx in advance for any help!
