Acer Aspire Drivers?!

Oct 27, 2009 8:55PM PDT

I have just installed Windows 7 Professional on to my Acer Aspire 5735 and now half of the functions of the laptop don't work, such as the card reader and volume control. Does anyone know of how I can fix this or find updated drivers as I cannot find anything on the Acer website. Thanks

If there are no Windows 7 drivers ...

try the Vista drivers. If those don't work, ask Acer customer support when they will have them available for your particular model. Until then, my suggestion is to go back to what worked.

Reinstall it from your recovery DVD or recovery partition. That takes it back to factory settings (so you'll lose everything you didn't backup).

When I put the recovery DVD in it seems to freeze and not recognize it. Any ideas?

The correct procedure:
1. Boot into the BIOS setup and check that it is set to boot from the DVD-drive (and only from the hard disk if there is no bootable CD or DVD in that drive). If not, change it.
2. Put the bootable DVD in the drive.
3. Exit the BIOS with "Save changes" if you made one.
4. Reboot (which happens automatically).
5. Recovery will start.

If you do #1 through #4, and #5 doesn't happen, something is very wrong either with the disk or with the drive.
