Acer Aspire 5735Z Home Premium Laptop Vista Touch Pad Fault

Tapping the Touchpad does not function for click,though the pointer moves with finger pressure.I have to use an external mouse to use the
computer.

My brother has a Acer 5000 series.

He clicks one of the buttons just below the pad to click. Try that.

that have tap-to-click capability and this one does, also have the facility to turn it off/on. Try right click on the touchpad icon in the notification bar down by the clock in the bottom right of the screen, see if there is an off/on selection.

Thanks for the advice.It worked and restored the tap click function
of the touch pad.
