Acer Aspire 3000

by naso0522 / December 21, 2008 10:34 AM PST

I have an acer aspire 3000, I had formated the drive to isntall xp pro, it had xp home, after the installation the laptop freezes, some times when it boots up the muose pad does not work, or the keybord does not type anything etc. I read in a forum that it could be a defective hard drive, I went and bought a new one, installed xp pro, and the same thing is happening.

What could this be?

any help would be greatly appreciated.

Sounds like it needs repairs.

Thanks for the info.

I will try that.
The only thing that bothers me is the fact that it works fine occasionally, if it is a hardware problem, shouldn't be every time it boots up?

Research BAD CAPS and the effects that had. Drives repair people nuts that didn't know about. Sadly no one fixes boards.

Help, my PC with Windows 10 won't shut down properly

Since upgrading to Windows 10 my computer won't shut down properly. I use the menu button shutdown and the screen goes blank, but the system does not fully shut down. The only way to get it to shut down is to hold the physical power button down till it shuts down. Any suggestions?
