Are they used

By what I can interpret from your post they are used laptops. I would advise staying away from used laptops unless you know the seller personally. If they are used, what site are you looking at and what is the asking price. if we knew your price range maybe we could make other recommendations.

If you are intent on buying used be wary of the HP laptops.

yes, they are used laptops. buying them from a site which keeps a trader rating and both the sellers have excellent ratings. i ll go personally check before taking them in. Acer one is costing me 270 us dollars and HP one is costing 285 Us dollars.

The trader rating will not save you from that design blunder

Why? Inspect the Inspiron LCD and many have barely acceptable displays. But it also appears someone is offering COUNTERFEIT Windows. A machine with Windows Ultimate for $290 when I see the OS going for 289 at http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16832116718 is a bad sign.

It's like getting the machine for free.

Thieves are not good folk to get laptops from.

Answer
Pass on the second unit.

Both have negative findings in my world. The second is all too similar to the failed dv6000 line (google dv6000 recall) and the first has the 2400 GPU which should run pretty hot.

It these were my only choices I'd go with #1.
