It sounds like you probably already did this, but after uninstall, did you completely shut down the system? Then turn back on and try a re-install?
How does the re-install fail? Does it get to a certain point then give you an error message?
Does it get to a certain point then disappear? If it just disappears, maybe the windows system remembers the program ID at that point and the install is off screen? Not sure, just a though. If that's the case, try this to get a hidden window back:
1. Alt-Tab to the window that is hidden, Choose the hidden program
2. Now press Alt-Space Bar this reveals a command window.
3. Arrow down one space to select "Move", press enter.
4. Use your arrow keys on your keyboard to move the window left or right so you can see it.
If that doesn't work, and if you are comfortable with this, back up your registry then remove references to ACDSee Pro, or ACDSee Pro 3, you'll have to search for them. Only if you are familiar, I wouldn't play with it if you are not. After removing the references re-install.
I use ACDSee Pro 3 and have had few problems until recently I accidentally moved the Process/Edit window completely off the screen to the left and could not make it reappear. It made the program unusable. After restarting the program and the computer multiple times with no success, I uninstalled ACD Pro3 and tried to reinstall. I cannot get it reinstalled although I have the code for multiiple downloads. The resinstall keeps failing. ACD customer service has been no help.
I also tried downloading a free trial version and that won't work. ACD customer service had me remove several things that I think must be necessary to re-install ACD.
Any thoughts out there about what to do?
