Better now

Ok, I got my precious Google back, but seriously, what up, Verizon? Has anyone else experience something like that?

Poisoned DNS entry

It's probably just a glitch that lead to a bad DNS entry for google, this normally sort themselves out due to TTL's (Time To Live) at which point the entry is refreshed, if you continue to have problems, you could switch to a DNS provider such as OpenDNS.
