accidentally deleted folder in mac mail

I am on 10.12.3.
accidentally I deleted a folder under "On my mac" in mail and cannot find/retrieve, tried trash right away, nothing. I am trying to find it on backup but not sure where to look, did quite a few searches and nothing, searched for v2, v3 files and nothing. Is this folder lost or is there any chance to retrieve

re fine example of why we backup!

as you can see in my note I wrote "I am trying to find it on my backup"

so that is not part of my problem.
I back up every 2 weeks religiously... I could not find the folder and just spent an hour with apple and no luck.

If you can't find it on backups.

Then it is not being backed up. Time to ask google "How do I backup Apple Mail."

Sorry, I'm not sure that backing up every 2 weeks,

religiously or not, would have saved you in this case, even if you had been backing up the mail.

Time Machine, on the other hand, would have saved your bacon and had you back in business in short order.

Why the long gap between backups?

What Backup software are you using?

You need to be backing up User(your name)\Library\Mail and User(your name)\Library\Application Support\Mail

Everything to do with Mail is contained there
